Pitti.Mobi (interface, 2008; with MIT Mobile Experience Lab)

Pitti Mobi is a design project aimed at encouraging communication and information exchange through mobile technology at large physical gatherings, e.g. trade shows, fairs, and conferences. We implemented a mobile tagging system that allows participants in the Pitti Uomo trade show to record their points of interest and thoughts as they travel through the fair and conduct business. By simply taking a picture of a booth's QR code, the users are able to create text- or audio-notes via mobile phone. These notes are saved and organized on the system for retrieval via web or phone during, as well as after, the event. The system was deployed in Florence at Pitti Uomo 2008, where user evaluations were also conducted.
